Atlantic Standard Recordings is proud to present their second release of music composed and produced by Russian/Canadian recording artist, Deemah. By focusing in on some of his moodier material, Deemah’s latest offering for Nova Scotia-based ASR is nothing short of DJ ambrosia. We offer you his dark side, but it’s a dark side with a smile. The blistering energy that is “Epicenter” is nicely juxtaposed against looser, bouncier material like “Big Bud” without losing an ounce of heavy. “Bass Jumpin”‘ ferociously rides the bass line on a positive tip; a drugged-out funk that feels sober and elevating, the kind of dirty that feels guiltlessly good. “Blind Spot” comes from nowhere to deliver glittering beats and tinkling ivories over a thick, rolling bassline, rounding out the showcase of material that proves to each listener it can be serious without being sinister, simultaneously being heavy and deep without compromise.
