Atlantic Standard Recordings is proud to present their fourth release of music composed and produced by Russian/Canadian recording artist, Deemah and featuring the vocals of Halifax-based singer and producer, Aliwishes. After hearing some of her self-produced recordings that featured her own house compositions and her silky voice, collaboration of these two Atlantic Canadians was inevitable. With Deemah seriously pumping up the volume and getting those hands in the air with his signature of seriously happy funk, Aliwishes smooths out the sound with the gentle touch of her poignant lyrics and felicitous delivery. The material produced by Deemah need look no further than to Aliwishes to find the excellent accompaniment to compliment it. The positivity coming from “Open Up The Sky” is refreshing and uplifting. The warm funky vibes keep the track flowing right to a lush denouement of cascading tones and sultry vocals. The best is saved for last however, as “Set The Record Straight” (Konstruktive Mix) proceeds to unleash a fierce, analog bassline of sheer, unstoppable electro-funk. This instantly infectious track had heads turning at this year’s Miami Winter Music Conference (2006) and is already receiving support from a wide range of A-list house DJs including Yousef, Onionz and John Howard. The Onionz Rub of “Set The Record Straight” is a perfect example of his unique production style that is catered to the big room vibe that keeps the floor burning until sunrise.
