His first release on ASR since 2008, Mucky Ebans’ latest project is a bit of hypno-funk house, peeking around dark corners late into the night offering heat and light.  These tracks approach their sneak attack with subtlety, presenting unassuming basslines paired with tight-fitting drums. Whispers and echoes cascade over funky loops, neck-snapping accents, swirling sweeps, cushioned in some serious west coast bump. Straddling that spot between Chicago and LA isn’t easy, but with Galaxy Drive, Mucky comes correct.
